In more than  28 years of practice at CounselCareCanada Life Solutions, I bring together a diverse, yet synchronous combination of education and skills in psychotherapy, nursing, education, and leadership.  Currently, my credentials include: Registered Psychotherapist (RP) CRPO; Registered Marriage and Family Therapist & Supervisor (RMFT-S) (CAMFT); CBT training at the Cleveland Center, the Third Wave (3W) models. and Certified CBT Clinician, (CACBT-ACTCC). Numerous other trainings, including Addictions Diploma (McMaster), Diploma in General Social Work and Child Abuse Studies (Renison University College), Certificate in Conflict Resolution (Conrad Grebel University College), Basic EMDR; and the Neufeld Method (Neufeld Intensive Levels 1 and 11).

My undergraduate degrees include BA (Hons. Social Development Studies), Renison College UW and BScN, UWO. As a therapist, I provide services to individuals, couples, families (including non-traditional couples and families) and groups. I value the lens of systems therapy and use an Integrative approach that includes many of the Third Wave (3W) models. I have long practiced Family Systems Therapy, Functional Analytical Psychotherapy (FAP), and the three trauma-focused psychotherapies recommended by the National Center for PTSD as having the strongest evidence: Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Basic Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR, Basic). I also practice and have taught Beckian Cognitive Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy.

In my work with clients, students and supervisees, I strive for a Relational Ethics Approach in promoting an empathetic and compassionate attitude toward self, others and the environment.

As a Psychotherapist and Couple and Family Therapist/Approved Supervisor with CAMFT,  I have provided supervision to qualifying therapists who are completing requirements for, among other organizations, AAMFT, CAMFT, CRPO, and CCPA, as well as for many students who have taken certificate courses through CounselCareCanada Learning Solutions. I also provide supervision for qualified practicing therapists.
